2013 OHSAA State Football Championships Schedule
In April the OHSAA Board of Directors approved an expansion from six to seven divisions in Ohio high school football. With the addition of a seventh division the 2013 OHSAA State Football Championships have been extended to a three day event. The games will be played at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 5 and at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m. on both Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7.
At the June meeting the OHSAA Board of Directors approved the divisional breakdowns, regional assignments, and elaborated on the schedule format for the 2013 Championships.
Division Breakdowns - Division I consists of the top 10% of schools based on male enrollment with 72 total DI teams. DI will be split into two regions with 35 teams in the Northern Region, 37 teams in the Southern Region, and 16 schools from each region qualifying for playoffs.
The remaining schools will be placed according to male enrollment in Divisions II through VII. Each of these divisions will be split into four regions with 8 teams from each region qualifying for playoffs.

Championship Schedule - Throughout the playoffs DII, DIII, DIV and DVI will play on Friday nights at 7:30 p.m. and DI, DV, and DVII will play on Saturday nights at 7 p.m. Of the divisions having their playoff games on Fridays, one will play their Championship on Thursday, December 5 at 7 p.m. and the remaining three will play their Championships on Friday, December 6 at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., or 7 p.m. The three divisions having their playoff games on Saturdays will play their Championship games on Saturday, December 7 at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. The final time assignments for each of the division Championships will be announced the morning after the state semifinals (November 29-30).
